"Drawing is not an exercise.
Exercise is sitting on a stationary bicycle and going nowhere.
Drawing is being on a bicycle and taking a journey.
For me to succeed in drawing, I must go fast and arrive somewhere.
The quest is to keep the thing alive..."
--Jim Dine, 2003

Thank you for visiting my web site. I hope you enjoy the art work.
What you will hopefully see is a progression of work over the years that represents my evolution and interpretation of the idea of art.

To me art is a combination of subject, composition and technique. My passion lies in the exploration of technique and the creation of composition.

You will find my subjects to be simple, noncontroversial and free from political statements as I believe in many cases controversy causes distraction. However I rely on technique and composition to hopefully keep my artwork from losing its uniqueness and falling into the realm of commercialism.

Over the years I have studied the works of contemporary artists and have been greatly influenced by the works of Jim Dine, Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, Claes Oldenberg and Andrew Wyeth. While I would never compare myself to Jim Dine and Jasper Johns, I will bet one can see their influence in my work.

Please take a look and let me know your thoughts.
